If the verb ends in a vowel sound or a voiced consonant (l, n, r, b, g, m, z, v), the –ed ending sounds like a /d/. You can use your fingers to touch your throat and say the sound. If the throat vibrates, it is a voiced sound. Side by Side 1, unit 15. No copyright infringement intended.
